Vantage co-sponsors prestigious Caravan Writers’ Guild Awards
We were once again delighted to co-sponsor the Caravan Writers’ Guild Awards as we aim to help inspire people to produce entertaining, informative, and inspiring content in the promotion of our wonderful industry.
At its annual Gala Dinner at Stonebridge Golf Club on 16th October 2019, the Caravan Writers’ Guild was delighted to announce the winners of both the John Wickersham Award for Video, and Douglas King Award for Journalism. The Awards are aimed at recognising journalistic excellence within the leisure vehicle industry.
Stuart Craig – Marketing Manager at Vantage Insurance Services – said:
“Vantage Insurance Services is once again delighted to be co-sponsoring these prestigious awards, we see it as our way of giving back to those who support us year on year.”
The winner of each award received £1,000 and a glass trophy, which were presented by Chris Apperley, Chairman of the Caravan Writers’ Guild, and Nigel Coppen, Business Development Director at Vantage Insurance Insurance Services.
John Wickersham Award for Video
John Sootheran of AJS Content Solutions comfortably cruised into first place with a superb, slick production commissioned by Swift, highlighting the S-Pod product. Judges praised the video as ‘professional’ and ‘the ideal length for the subject’.
Douglas King Award for Journalism
2019 has been a whirlwind year for a relative newcomer to the industry, Karla Baker. In a short period of time, her writing skills, enthusiasm, and her passion for inspiring others has earned her commissions with high profile magazines across different markets. It was a touching piece written for the Caravan and Motorhome Club Magazine that won over the judges and saw Karla win the Douglas King Award for Journalism 2019.
The Caravan Writers’ Guild (CWG) was formed in 1982 and is the only professional body of journalists and content creators dedicated to the Leisure Vehicle Industry. The CWG is run by a voluntary committee and is supported by Friend Sponsors from within the Leisure Vehicle industry, and by the fees paid by its members.
